The Stepping Stones Autumn Volunteer Appreciation Party recently came to a heartwarming close. Volunteers from different regions, program teams, and a student beneficiary came together to celebrate every sincere act of kindness in a warm and meaningful gathering.
The event began with an icebreaker session that quickly dissolved the barriers among volunteers. Volunteers who had never met before shed their initial shyness through relaxed conversations, getting to know one another and sharing their volunteering experiences. From the very first greetings, quiet connections were formed through genuine warmth.
Quarterly Review
Ms. Corinne Hua, the Founder of Stepping Stones, delivered a heartfelt speech filled with gratitude and appreciation for the volunteers. She reflected on the achievements of the past quarter and credited every milestone to the volunteers’ steady dedication: “Every moment you choose to stand firm, you help pave a path of hope for the children.” Her words captured the most moving essence of the philanthropic journey.
Achievement Sharing
The program managers presented an impact report on the three core programs, including English teaching, digital literacy, and social-emotional learning, while revisiting many memorable moments from volunteer activities.
Some volunteers then shared personal volunteering stories from their time with the children, as well as the changes they experienced themselves, from the initial awkwardness of first encounters to the deep trust they built over time. Each story reflected the powerful beauty of mutual growth.
Performances & Awards
A dance performance by one of our students earned enthusiastic applause from the volunteers present at the site. The presentation of the Star Volunteer Awards brought the event to its emotional peak. The medals symbolized not only recognition, but also the continued sense of responsibility and the original spirit of giving.
Buffet & Chatting
Special thanks to Homeslice Pizza and Shanghai Young Bakers for offering a variety of pizzas and delicious desserts. Their support helped create a warm, joyful atmosphere where everyone could relax, connect, and enjoy meaningful conversations.
Lucky Draw
The lucky draw segment was full of delightful surprises. Special thanks to Rita’s Daily Life and Ginger Restaurant for generously providing a wide range of gifts. Prize-winning volunteers shared their joy one after another, and some volunteers made spontaneous promises: “See you at the next volunteer activity!”, deepening the friendships formed through the shared bond of kindness.
This warm gathering was by no means an ending, but rather a new beginning in Stepping Stones’ ongoing journey of compassion.
