As June ushered in the warmth of early summer, Stepping Stones gathered with volunteers for the 2026 Spring Appreciation Party at our longtime partner, Homeslice Pizza. After an entire season of teaching, lesson planning, and dedicated service, the evening became a celebration filled with genuine laughter, heartfelt gratitude, and meaningful connections. Looking back on the past few months, it was your commitment and generosity that brought light and inspiration into every classroom for the children we serve.
Bring Everyone Together, One Conversation at a Time
The Stepping Stones team was ready at the registration table to welcome everyone as they arrived. To help volunteers from different programs and teaching sites get to know one another, we prepared a fun icebreaker activity. As lively music filled the room, any nervousness about meeting new people quickly faded, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere spread throughout the restaurant.
Reflecting on Our Journey, Celebrating Our Impact
The evening officially began with heartfelt opening remarks from our host, who reflected on the challenges, perseverance, and shared experiences that defined the past semester. Program Managers then took the stage to present a brief recap of the semester’s achievements, highlighting the meaningful progress Stepping Stones has made across its educational initiatives. The room filled with enthusiastic applause — a proud moment shared by everyone in the Stepping Stones community. As delicious food was served, the evening naturally shifted into relaxed conversations over dinner, with friendships growing stronger in the warm and lively atmosphere.
Laughter That Brought Us Even Closer
We also planned an interactive game that everyone could take part in — and it instantly energized the room! Volunteers were challenged to express the same phrase in different languages or dialects, creating a lively atmosphere filled with laughter, friendly competition, and plenty of memorable moments.
Stories That Stayed With Us
One of the most moving moments of the evening was the volunteer sharing session. A few volunteers from different programs were invited to reflect on their personal journeys, speaking candidly about their experiences and the impact volunteering has had on them. Their heartfelt stories resonated deeply with everyone in the room.
Honoring Dedication, Celebrating Together
Amid warm applause, we recognized our long-serving volunteers for their unwavering commitment and selfless dedication. Each was presented with a commemorative award in appreciation of the lasting difference they have made in the lives of the children we serve.
The celebration then continued with one of the evening’s most anticipated highlights — a lucky draw! With a variety of exciting prizes prepared by Stepping Stones, the room was filled with cheers, surprises, and joyful excitement.
