Even COVID-19 Can’t Stop Us: Videolink Teacher Training is back!

It has always been Stepping Stones’ mission to improve the education of disadvantaged children – the main issue is how we can achieve this goal in an effective manner.
The Teacher Training Programs we provide tackle this problem at its root by training English teachers in disadvantaged schools to become more confident English speakers. After all, training a classroom of English teachers requires similar effort as teaching a classroom of students, but each teacher can bring more long-term benefits to more classrooms.
After 16 hours of training sessions on teaching methodology, English conventions, and oral English practice, champion teachers are selected as leaders to provide on-going support to other teachers in their school. Stepping Stones trainers conduct personalised training for champion teachers, which includes teaching observation and feedback session.
Starting from 2017, Stepping Stones has directly trained 94 teachers in total, thanks to our volunteers, donors, and sponsors. 2020 is a special year, and we have not been able to return to the schools to provide teacher training in person, but our Videolink Teacher Training program (VTT), where volunteers train teachers remotely through the internet, held its first class on 17th September for teachers in our new program site in Jiangxi Xingan county.
