This week at Stepping Stones Center, our kids took brave steps into society and shared so many heartwarming moments with us.
We’ve captured these shining moments for you.
Spotting Hallway Hazards
Dressed in little brown vests, the kids turned into “Junior Building Managers”.
Guided by volunteers, they learned about neighborhood helpline numbers, fire hydrants, and how to use fire extinguishers.
Walking up the stairs, when they spotted clutter stacked in the hallway, their faces turned serious: “Things are piled up here; it’s a fire hazard!” At that moment, behind those little vests was a growing sense of community responsibility.

Visiting the world-renowned newsroom, the children got to sit in the news anchor chairs and look at the glowing screens with great excitement.
During the Q&A, though a bit shy, they bravely took the microphone and gave surprisingly deep answers:
“If you want to work in a beautiful office like this in the future, what skills should you practice now?” — “Study hard.”
“How can kids from ordinary families stay competitive without expensive tutoring classes?” — “Listen carefully in class, take notes, and do practice tests during holidays.”
While adults often search for shortcuts to success, children remind us of the simplest, most honest truths.
Embracing “Imperfect” Monsters
Does good art have to look “realistic”? In our Drawing and 3D Printing class, the answer was a clear “No.”
At the end of the lesson, kids used irregular lines to create their own “Line Monsters.” There were no fixed standards, and every creative idea was welcomed.
Seeing their wild, creative artwork, we firmly believe that protecting their originality and letting them express themselves freely without judgment is the true beauty of art education.
From the dead-earnest look on their face while scanning for fire hazards, to the moment they held the microphone, giving answers filled with innocent yet profound wisdom; and finally, to the complete and utter focus in their eyes while painting a picture alongside their teacher.
This week at Stepping Stones Center, the kids were exploring the world and healing our adult hearts along the way.
